Also known as Thermoplastic Polyolefin

TPO is one of the cheapest materials on the market today. It’s a relatively low-cost, high performing roof membrane. TPO resists corrosion, dirt accumulation, tears, impacts and punctures. Also, it doesn’t promote mildew or algae growth and doesn’t require pressure washing.

The TPO membrane was first introduced to the roofing market in the early 1990s. Thermoplastic means that it becomes plastic upon heating and it hardens upon cooling, and this is how it seals up tight at the seams. TPO can be installed on low and high slope surfaces. The light-colored roof, which provides consistent whiteness, reflects the suns energy and can play a significant role in reducing a building or home’s cooling costs. TPO membranes do come in a variety of colors, but they are primarily available in white, gray and tan.

TPO membranes contain no toxic or hazardous ingredients and are fully recyclable. Often, manufacturer warranties are available for installations up to 30 years.
